On some media and social network pages, videos have been circulated showing the capture, torture, and inhuman treatment of Akhundov Huseyn Ahliman oglu, born in 2003, a military serviceman of the Azerbaijan Armed Forces in the territory of the Republic of Armenia, who went missing in the territory of Shahbuz region of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic due to limited visibility on bad weather conditions.
A criminal case has been launched in the Investigation Department of the Prosecutor General's Office under article 115.2 (torture, severe or inhuman treatment of captive) of the Criminal Code.
The necessary investigative and operational measures in connection with the recorded videos are being implemented to ensure the identification and prosecution of the person or persons who tortured and performed cruel and inhuman treatment against our serviceman.
We declare that petitions will be sent to the relevant authorities of foreign countries and cooperation with international organizations will be provided for bringing to national and international judicial responsibility persons who have committed illegal acts against Azerbaijani citizens.
Detailed information on the progress and outcome of the investigation will be provided to the public.
