On November 13, 2021 at 07:12 a.m., citizen of the Republic of Armenia Norayr Mirzoyan, born in 1975, and others, moving along the Khankendi-Lachin highway from Khankendi in the direction of Lachin on a Mercedes-Benz car, state registration number 48-MN- 048 ER, by acquiring and carrying an RQD-5 hand grenade and other firearms and explosives, as part of a criminal group tried to commit a terrorist act on the territory of the Republic of Azerbaijan. Getting out of the car, with the intention to kill, they threw a grenade at the servicemen of N military unit of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the peacekeeping contingent of the Russian Federation serving near Dashalty village, Shusha city. Thus, by inflicting bodily injuries of varying degrees of severity on Hafiz Nasibov, a sergeant of extra-urgent active military service, and other persons (only three people), they tried to kill them deliberately on the grounds of national hatred.
Criminal proceedings have been launched by the Prosecutor General of the Republic of Azerbaijan under Articles 29, 120.2.1 (attempted murder by a group of persons, a group of persons with prior connivance, an organized group or a criminal association (organization)), 29, 120.2.3 (attempted murder of the victim himself or his close relatives in connection with the performance of official or public duties), 29, 120.2.4 (attempted murder, committed with extreme cruelty or in a generally dangerous way), 214.2.3 (committing terrorism with the use of firearms and objects used as weapons), 228.3 (illegal acquisition, transfer, sale, storage, transportation and carrying of firearms, explosives by an organized group) and other articles of the Criminal Code. The investigation was entrusted to the Investigation Department of the Prosecutor General's Office.
Intensive investigative measures are underway.
