Answer: Admission to service in the prosecution authorities is carried out through a competitive selection process.
Answer: The competitive selection is held to assess the preparation, knowledge, general knowledge, as well as the suitability and merit of each candidate seeking to join the prosecution service for the positions of prosecutor, investigator, or operative officer, and is conducted in an open and transparent manner in accordance with international requirements. (Clause 1.2 of the Regulation)
Answer: “In accordance with the Regulation “On Conducting a Competitive Selection among Candidates Seeking to Enter the Prosecution Service”, a competitive selection is announced at least once a year where relevant vacant staff positions exist in the prosecution authorities. Answer: This implies the existence of obligations arising in connection with the existence of relationships that cause a citizen’s connection with foreign states and dependence on them. Such obligations may include registration, tax obligations, the obligation not to leave the territory of a country for a certain period, etc., which arise as a result of long-term residence abroad and lead to the formation of continuous, strong and stable relations, as well as political, legal and other similar obligations. When answering the questions (legal cases), candidates must demonstrate the ability to sufficiently and comprehensively convey the content of the relevant law and provide its interpretation, as well as to express the concept of the law. A candidate who is dissatisfied with the results of the test examination may file a complaint with the Competition Commission of the Prosecutor General’s Office within 5 days of the results being announced to them. The Commission considers the matter with the applicant present and provides the applicant with an appropriate explanation. The decision of the Commission on complaints is final. Answer: The documents of persons who have applied to enter the prosecution service are verified in accordance with the procedure established by the Prosecutor General of the Republic of Azerbaijan. (Article 4 of the Law of the Republic of Azerbaijan “On Service in the Prosecution Authorities”)

Answer: Yes, persons whose law degree is confirmed by a diploma recognised in the Republic of Azerbaijan in accordance with the established procedure and who are fluent in the state language of the Republic of Azerbaijan may be admitted to the prosecution service.
