The Press Service (powers of the Department) is an independent structural unit of the Prosecutor General's Office of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
The main duties and functions of the Press Service: to perform the function of ensuring the transparency of the media, public organizations, public relations, as well as informing the public about the activities of the prosecution office; to ensure the collection, preparation and dissemination of information on the rule of law, the state of crime and the work done in the areas of activity of the prosecution office for the smooth exercise of freedom of information; to interact with the media, upon request or on their own initiative, regularly inform about the activities of the prosecution office that require disclosure; to coordinate the use of media resources in the investigation of criminal cases, develop relations with the media, provide practical assistance to subordinate prosecutors in order to increase the efficiency of work in this direction; to open new accounts on social networks of the Prosecutor General's Office in order to ensure flexibility and efficiency in providing information to the public; to improve the appearance and quality of existing and new pages; to ensure synchronization with the official website, as well as participate in conferences, forums and other events in order to organize the exchange of experience and work in accordance with international standards on issues related to the activities of the service, with prosecutors of foreign countries and international organizations, etc.
